Timbre : Experience the Different Hues of Music

I remember this movie (based on a real life story) in the 80s where a guy named Rocky was trying to “show” his blind friend how the different colors look or feel like. He described the color red by letting her touch a hot stone. Then, he handed her a bulk of cotton to share how the color blue feels like. It was a very memorable scene for me because I realized that it’s true – all our senses are interconnected.

What colors represent the different genres of music

Whenever I listen to music in the comforts of my room, or even when I have my earphones on when I’m outside, I tend to close my eyes whenever I hear one of my favorite songs playing. May it be something loud to help me vent all the negative energies in me or a soulful song, you can, most of the time, see me closing my eyes just so I can completely surrender myself into the music. Whenever I do, I see all sorts of colors and images drifting through the darkness as the song plays along.

So, when I learned about Timbre, a brand that promises to give everyone that experience of enjoying the different hues of music, I knew I have to support it. 🙂

Timbre - The Color of Music

Timbre wants us to experience music in a whole different way, through visual audio – music translated to art – through the concept of sound-color synaesthesia. How will they do this? Through headphone art that doesn’t only come in vibrant colors, but also represents something – may it be your favorite band in the 80s, your preferred genre of music, or even remarkable places or artists.

The concept of sound-color synaesthesia

As much as I’d love to tell you more about Timbre, for now, that’s all I can share. Stay tuned, though, in the coming weeks as Timbre and me here on Pinay Reviewer unveil more about the brand, the art and the concept.  Check out Timbre’s website: http://www.timbreheadphones.com/.

It's more than just artwork - it's visual audio

To prepare yourself, on your next sound trip session, try closing your eyes. What are the colors you see when you listen to R&B? How about rock music? Let me know about your experience. 🙂

Win Kikay Goodies from Bing’s Awesome Birthday Giveaway – Ends 11/06

I’ve mentioned this here before and on my personal blog, but it’s only this year that I really started to learn how to put on makeup properly. I’m pretty happy with some of the looks that I get to try on myself now that I’m feeling more confident with my makeup application. However, I still have a lot of things to work on, especially with my eyebrows, and more colors to play with so I’m just excited to get my hands on more makeup goodies. That’s why you’d see that most of the giveaways I’m featuring lately are under the beauty niche.

And, for all you kikays out there, here’s another giveaway you shouldn’t miss. It’s Bing’s Awesome Birthday Giveaway! Here’s a photo of the prizes:

The mechanics are pretty easy to follow. One of them is choosing a favorite among the ones she’s already done on her blog – a very easy feat, if you ask me, since she’s done some pretty cool and sexy looks I know most women out there would love to try on themselves. 🙂

The prize includes the following:

  • Pink Candy wallet
  • Newspaper Print pouch – I love this! I’m getting addicted to pouches, seriously.
  • 4U2 Professional Makeup Palette
  • Maybelline The HyperCurl Volum’ Express 3-in-1 Mascara in Very Black – I’ve only used colorless mascara, but I’d love to try this one ‘cause of what they say it can do to my eyes. 🙂
  • Careline Lip Glosses
  • NYX Slim Lip Pencils (Nude Pink and Sand Pink) – Perfect ‘cause most of my friends say I need to put on more color on my lips. 😀

If you’re not a kikay or if you’re a guy, you can still actually join the giveaway. Just say you’re hoping to give the prize as a gift to your mother, sister, friend or special someone. 😉 This can be a perfect graduation gift or something to celebrate a birthday or anniversary with your kikay loved one. 🙂

A Makeover : Finally!

When I started Pinay Reviewer a year ago, my main purpose was to make this my main review blog. I love sharing my opinions on different products and services I’ve tried myself in the hopes of educating my fellow consumers out there.

After a few months, since I was a giveaway, promo and contest addict too (I love freebies!), I decided to feature my latest finds and the ones that I actually joined here with the same purpose – sharing. I already have too many domains so I said I’ll just use this same blog for that. 😀

After a year, I can say that this blog is indeed growing. I am pretty excited about the upcoming giveaways that I’ll be hosting here myself, and the range of products that I’ll be reviewing and featuring. So, it was just right to finally give this blog a makeover.

The makeover is not 100% complete yet, but I’m pretty happy with what I’ve done with the theme so far. Now, it looks more personal, which is what I’m aiming to do in the coming weeks – to make this blog more than your source of the hottest giveaways or promos in the Metro, but a full-on review blog where I’ll feature my favorite fashion and beauty products, online stores, gadgets, etc.

I hope you stay with me as this blog goes through a minor transformation. I promise to give you all more reason to keep coming back here. I may not have trophies or awards received for this blog, but I know there are people who do read and follow Pinay Reviewer and my other blogs as well (Certified Foodies, Just Another Pixel, blankPixels’ Geek Side among others :D). For that, I’m thankful. 🙂

For now, I’d like to invite you all to join our giveaway over at Certified Foodies and get a chance to treat 5 of your family or friends to Jollibee Breakfast Meals. Click here for the complete mechanics. This contest will run for ONE (1) WEEK ONLY so hurry and join now! 🙂
