Review: Crumpler Proud Stash Backpack

I admit, I’m not a light packer when I travel. I’m slightly OC, with a hint of hoarder (hahaha), so I feel like I’ll need everything but the kitchen sink. I vow to change that though as I‘ve got plans to travel more starting this year, and I think this Crumpler Proud Stash backpack might be the perfect travel companion.

The design may look simple to you, but I don’t fancy complicated patterns on my bag. I’m not into bags as a fashion statement, but I’m sure this Crumpler Proud Stash in Coral will be liked by many of my fellow ladies. My mom liked the color so much that she insisted that she ‘model’ this one for me first before the Crumpler Ludicrous Debacle Messenger Bag. I prefer this in black though.

A very simple design indeed, but that only means you have more space for things you need to bring. There’s one cargo space inside (with twin gripper zippers) and one big, full-width zippered front pocket. That’s it. Simple, no fuss. I like it!

We tried placing all sorts of contents in it, from books to my laptop, and I didn’t experience any strains on my shoulders. The fully adjustable harness straps were wide and padded. The weight was well-distributed so I highly recommend this for backpackers, especially because it’s made with water-resistant materials (even the zippers!) and carries Crumpler’s lifetime guarantee.

Review: Crumpler House of Horror Laptop Bag

I remember when we went for a 5-day vacation to Northern Luzon back in 2010, I was supposed to bring my laptop with me. However, because I wasn’t comfy enough with my backpack at that time, I left my laptop at home. It was blessing in disguise ’cause I got to completely enjoy the trip, but I’m not sure I can afford to do that with my current job. I prefer backpacks to bring valuables because I feel more secure with them, so Crumpler’s House of Horror laptop bag is just perfect.

In case you’re wondering who’s in the photos in this review, that’s my nanay – my ever supportive mom. I asked her to be my ‘model’ and she gleefully accepted the task. After I was done post-processing the photos, I realized that this House of Horror laptop bag looked good on her. So, it’s suited for anyone, really.

First thing we noticed is, as expected from Crumpler, how comfortable it is to wear this bag on your back. The 38-mm soft webbing straps are easily adjustable to even out the weight distribution on your shoulders.

The front of the bag has a quick access zippered pocket for the less valuable things you bring. Crumpler House of Horror is meant for up to 15-inch laptops. The laptop sleeve is well-cushioned to ensure your device is safe. The whole bag is also made of water-resistant materials, even the zippers!

It has a total of 5 storage zones / compartments. The inside of the bag has pockets for your smaller devices like smartphones, digital camers or even chargers.

Review: Inboosta Travel Booster Rechargable Li-ion Battery

If my favorite gadget from last year was my Samsung Galaxy SIII, this year, I think I already found what could be my top must-have device for 2013. I’m talking about this Inboosta Travel Booster Rechargable Li-ion Battery.

Though I am completely in love with my smartphone, its battery power is just not enough to survive 6 to 10 hours of nonstop internet use. Because of my work and my usual online activities, my battery normally lasts for 5 hours before I have to limit my internet use. This sucks, especially when you’re traveling and you don’t have immediate access to a charging station. That’s where the Travel Booster by Inboosta comes in.

First off, the Travel Booster comes in various stylish colors in Inboosta’s IB4400 Rainbow series. For my fellow ladies who love pink, just look at how gorgeous and chic this looks!

It’s lightweight and can fit easily inside my bag or any carry-on when I’m traveling.

It’s compatible with many portable devices like smartphones, tablet PCs, music players, handheld games, or any gadget that can be charged through USB. The package comes with 4 plugs aside from the USB connector you use to charge the Travel Booster.

This means you can charge a wide variety of devices. This is especially useful for those who travel light and want to avoid the hassle of bringing separate chargers for their devices.

Most of our devices here use micro USB for charging, so I only got to use one plug with my S3 and my other Samsung phone.

How to use? Once you’ve connected this battery pack to your device, press the power button in the middle and the LED lights will turn on.

When charging is done, inboosta will detect it and will shut down automatically to prevent overcharging your device. I usually charge my smartphone when I sleep, so I sometimes end up overcharging it (I know, I’ve stopped doing this). So, this feature is extremely useful for me.

To charge this Inboosta Travel Booster, you connect it to your computer or a compatible AC adapter with a USB outlet. If you don’t have access to a computer though, this might be a problem since the package doesn’t come with its own adapter. Good thing my S3′s charger can be used for this purpose.

I am extremely happy with this Travel Booster by Inboosta and I can’t see myself traveling or even going anywhere without it. So, yes, the price tag is justifiable.
