*Phew* What a long name for a brush set, but I’m sure you ladies will be giddy about this! Make sure you read ’til the bottom of the post for an announcement.

I’ve been constantly talking about how I’m just learning how to apply makeup properly. My eyebrows are still my major struggle, but in the past few months, I believe I’ve improved a lot in my makeup application. After watching numerous videos from my favorite makeup gurus (local and international), I learned that one of the most important makeup tools I need to have is a brush set. Early this year, I was convinced enough to buy me a brush set. However, I don’t like bringing some of them with me ’cause of hygiene reasons. I’ve been planning on buying a new set for traveling, so imagine how glad I was when House of Flair, one of my top online stores where you can pre-order items from your favorite US stores, sent me over this Sonia Kashuk Breast Cancer Awareness Proudly Pink Brush Set to review.

I must admit, I’m not a big fan of pink, but when I received this brush set, my kikay, girly self emerged and almost squealed in excitement. "Pink brushes!!!!", she exclaimed.
And when I posted a photo of this on my Facebook wall (personal), almost every lady I know liked and expressed how much they wanted it.

One of my struggles when it comes to applying makeup is shaping and filling in my eyebrows. It might be the easiest job for most women I know, but since I over-plucked it when I was 19 and I got thick and black hair on the inner edges, it’s been frustrating.
Thankfully, I found these Skinfood Black Bean Eye Brow Pencils that were like heaven-sent to me!

Before I tried these eyebrow pencils, I was using In2It Waterproof Eyebrow Makeup (click for my review). Don’t get me wrong, I love that too, but I usually end up using a pencil on the edges so I can get the look that I want. I don’t think it’s the brow makeup’s fault. It’s more on my brush application. It usually results to my overdoing my brows and they end up really thick and uneven. Plus, I have a heavy hand when applying brow makeup because, as I’ve mentioned earlier, my eyebrow hair is dark.
I was browsing this eBay store owned by bhappywithme, who I highly recommend, by the way, because she was very patient with me as I sorted through some issues with the eBay gift certificate my friend Joy of Notepad Corner gave me as a gift. I saw the Skinfood Black Bean Eyebrow Pencil in her store and saw the tip of the pencil itself is shaped differently from what I’ve gotten used to. It’s oval and flat. It only costs Php 147 so I decided to buy shade #3, black brown. But, I wasn’t completely sure about the color so I looked for another shade. I found shade #5, grey brown, at another store so I bought that too.

When they finally arrived, I couldn’t be more excited to try them! The pencil has two tips: the pencil itself with a cartridge that you can tune in and out, and the brow brush, which means you don’t have to use another one for taming your hair or to blend the color across your eyebrows.
